Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

March 2020

Dear Customer/Supply Partners:

These are challenging times as we prepare for, and respond to, the Coronavirus outbreak. Like you, we have watched with concern the rising numbers of those infected by the virus and wish a swift and full recovery for those who are ill.

Many of you have inquired about what we are doing to mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus on our operations. Nellson is committed to doing everything within our control to continue to serve our customers in an exemplary way while protecting the health and wellbeing of our employees, customers, supply partners, and their families. Among other steps, Nellson is doing the following:

  • Employee Communication
    • A Policy communication has been sent to all employees across every site regarding good manufacturing practices and heightened hygiene policies;
    • Companywide, health care providers have provided training and information concerning the safeguards to take for dealing with any signs of infection.
  • Business Contingency Plan – We are currently reviewing and updating where necessary our BCP by site to reflect Pandemic Events such as COVID-19 and assessing plans across our Bar & Powder network in the event there is a supply disruption at one of the sites.
  • Crisis Management Plan - We are currently reviewing our CMP to address actions in connection with Pandemic Events generally and COVID-19 specifically.

Also, every day, our factories are focused on good manufacturing practices, as well as sanitation and quality processes that are designed to protect our employees and our customers.

Our factories and offices are in the US and Canada, and we do not have employees traveling for work outside of these two countries. Further, in an abundance of caution, we are limiting visitors to our sites (no large groups, critical business visits only) as well as business travel by our employees. We expect to return to our normal policies once the situation stabilizes.

As you know, Government agencies are going to great lengths to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and we are following guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as the situation evolves. We will continue to monitor developments and provide communication updates as appropriate. If you have additional questions, please contact me or any member of our executive team.

Sincerely,

Jamie Better
